Notes: Since before the before the war with Iraq, the Bush administration has encouraged people to believe that Saddam Hussein had a hand in 9/11. However, both Bush and Rumsfeld have stated that there was no evidence to show that he did. Yet, Cheney has continued to imply that Saddam had indeed had a hand in it citing long-standing ties between Iraq and Al Qaeda. This has led over half the country to believe that Saddam had a part in 9/11 and that the Iraq invasion was about 9/11.

The 9/11 commission's recent report concludes that there were no such collaborative ties. The Bush team has a huge stake in their claims of ties since the W.M.D. reasons for attack didn't pan out. Consequently, it has stepped up it's rhetoric defending its theory and has begun strong attacks against detractors of the theory.
