Notes: With the Pentagon leaking like a rusty radiator, plans to attack Iraq are being discussed daily in the media. Dubya says Saddam must go. Congressional hearings were held during the week to discuss Iraq and whether the U.S. should attack. Some don't think Saddam is a real threat to America's security, but others say he will soon gain weapons of mass destruction.
That got me to thinking about the number of nuclear weapons that U.S. has and how people from other countries may react to that. We have 6,000 operationally deployed nuclear weapons, a number matched only by Russia. While most of Americans feel confident that we can be trusted to do the right thing, does the rest of the world feel the same? Does anyone remember Failsafe and Dr. Strangelove? 08.04.02
